Marketing Research Data

  • 74% of respondents said that being a corporate sponsor of Pride positively influences their decision to do business with that company
  • 66% of respondents said they had purchased a product or used a service from a company they were introduced to at Atlanta Pride
  • 81% of respondents indicated they had seen signs in the park and were aware of the sponsoring companies
  • Atlanta Pride attendees are very educated. A full 56% of respondents held undergraduate or post-graduate degrees. Another 27% had some college -- that translates into 83% of Atlanta Pride attendees who have had at least some advanced education!
  • 51% of attendees own their own home and 36% of attendees earned more than $55K annually

The LGBT Consumer Population:


  • Atlanta metro has one of the largest LGBT populations in the nation. Atlanta has the third highest percentage (12.8%) of lesbian and gay couples among the fifty largest cities in the U.S. (UCLA School of Law and Public Policy, Oct. 2006)
  • In addition, DeKalb County, GA has the 5th highest concentration of LGBT residents of all counties in the nation and Atlanta suburbs Decatur and Avondale Estates rank 8th and 10th, respectively, for smaller towns/cities. (Witeck Combs Communications, “Reaching the LGBT Consumer”)
  • Current U.S. buying power of $641 Billion each year which is expected to grow to $835 Billion by 2011! (Witeck Combs Communications, Jan. 25, 2007)
  • The LGBT population of the U.S. numbers approximately 20 million, according to the most recent U.S. census data from 2000.
